It's good stuff. Random; but I've also been reading a lot from the Tao Teh Ching (translation by Hua-Ching Ni) and instead of a quote today I thought I'd share the 8th entry(chapter? I dunno what they're called) from the book:   " One of universal nature is like water; he benefits all things but does not contend with them. For some reason the scanner and even when I try to photograph it with the camera, it just isn't as rich. I tried to match the slide with color correction in photoshop, but it still doesn't quite ring as true. Ah, I suppose that is the magic of...

Life is crazy. And if you play your cards right, its crazy in a good way. I know my life is crazy and I love every moment of it. The cool thing about what we do, as photographers, is that you never know what a given day will bring. You could get called up, randomly from some company needing a shot yesterday and you know you won't see the check for a few tomorrows.   You could also, as I did monday night, get a call at 9:30pm from some big shot asking you to shoot the next day and to be ready by 6:20am. Alas, I make it sound worse than it is. The 'big shot' calling me was my all time favorite rider (one Shaun Murray) asking if I wanted to come and spend a day with him and Keith Lyman on the St. Johns river shooting stills for a video they are working on with filmer Ronnie Ramierro (sorry Ronnie if I spelled your name wrong).   To say I was pumped would be the biggest understatement of a lifetime. I was so excited I couldn't sleep, I was like a little kid the night before christmas. I finally passed out at 2:30am to wake up at 4:30am. I ran all day on pure adrenaline. I live for this stuff! I had heard nothing but amazing things about the St. John's river and the Silver Glen. Even Shaun had said that it was so crystal clear, bring a water housing if you can. Well... I don't own one. Luckily for me I work for the kindest most giving man on the planet ( Josh Letchworth ) who had a shoot the same day in Naples, FL and was going to need his D300 housing.  He did, however, offer me the use of his F5 and F5 housing. I was alllll about it. Dove into our Film Pit (a section of our fridge dedicated to film) and grabbed a few rolls of Fuji Velvia 50. So this was my first experience with Nikon's F5 and aquatec's F5 water housing. Oh yea, and we shot some action stuff too from a chase boat. Voting time. Who wants to see some underwater shots from the Silver Glen or who wants to see two of the industry's premier athletes going big? " Adventure: the pursuit of life." -  Daniel Roy Wiarda
