Take the Time | 07:53AM Nov 04, 2007

Often I find myself always in a rush to go somewhere or do something; and more times than not the somewhere or something isn't as important as what I missed out on due to my rushing.  For example, I wake up, quickly take a shower, get dressed and run out the door to work.  Rushing, rushing, rushing! Had I got up an hour earlier, the whole process could slow down, I could have breakfast, talk with my family, get some work done, et cetra.

Today I was awoken by a phone call from Mark, telling me something to the effect of 'the surf should be good, get down there and shoot'.  I came up with a few excuses about how I didn't have time to get there before work, too much to do, etc.  Then I thought screw it, and made the 45min drive down to Higgins Beach.

The street was packed with cars and the surf was perfect.  I grabbed my gear and started shooting.  It felt so good to be out there in the cold, on the beach. Again my winter beach travelers know what I'm talking about.  It was totally worth the drive out there and taking the time to explore and check it out.  So a huge thanks to Mark for getting me out of bed and motivating me to get out there.

I'll be posting various shots over the course of the next few days from today, so stay tuned.  We'll also be shooting the sunrise and the surf is supposed to be even better.  Lot's of fun stuff to come!
