Ahhhh... <sigh> behold the power of the ocean. It can be the ultimate playground one moment and a death trap the next. The water demands respect and by sheer wonder it becomes mesmorizing. The surf has been incredible the past couple of days so you'll be seeing some surf shots for the next few days.
Today Mark and I hit the beach at sunrise to catch some of the good light and early morning surfers. It was a beautiful day and I had quite a few "moments" that were great in that short two hour period that we were there at the beach. Just to keep things interesting I'll share one today, and you'll just have to tune in tomorrow for more.
These shots were actually taken yesterday, however looking at them reminds me of a moment I had today. To make a long story short I managed to lose my keys on the beach today, which did a couple of things for me. The biggest most important one being that I couldn't get into my car which means I can't change lenses or cards. We had only been at the beach for 30min and i was already down to only 24 shots. So I decided to save them for some actual surfing action and sat down on the rocks to marvel at the power and beauty of the ocean. I felt truly at peace and in that moment every fiber of my being was present and it was incredible. Just to be there in that moment, made losing my keys worth while. Sometimes that's all it takes to make me stop and appreciate my surroundings.
Quote of the Day:
"But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day."
-Benjamin Disraeli
